About QuietMoneyLeaks
Free calculators that show the math and let you decide.
Why We Built This
Most financial calculators either guilt you into changing or hide behind complicated jargon. We wanted something different: simple tools that show you what your money could become—without telling you what to do. Because understanding the math isn't about shame, it's about having options.
What Makes Us Different
Transparent Math
Every calculator explains its formulas. We use conservative 7% returns based on historical S&P 500 data—no inflated promises.
Zero Judgment
We frame choices as "freedom gained," never "money wasted." Your spending reflects your values—we're just here to show the full picture.
Actually Free
No account required. No email harvesting. No paywalls. Just tools that work when you need them.
Quick Insights
Get answers in seconds, not minutes. Simple inputs, clear outputs, visual charts that make the numbers meaningful.
Our Methodology
Every number on this site goes through a deliberate verification process. We don't publish a figure unless we can trace it to a credible source — and we link that source so you can verify it yourself.
- 1 Investment projections use a conservative 7% annual return based on the S&P 500's inflation-adjusted historical average. We apply 15% federal capital gains tax on investment gains — not on contributions — and round results to the nearest $1,000 with "approximately" to avoid false precision.
- 2 Statistics and research are sourced from government agencies (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Federal Reserve, EPA), peer-reviewed studies, and established financial institutions. Every statistic links directly to its source document.
- 3 Calculator formulas are explained in plain English on every calculator page in the "The Math Explained" section. We show the formula, walk through an example, and state every assumption so you can judge the results for yourself.
- 4 Every calculation is independently verified before publication. We cross-check each figure against the stated assumptions and formulas, and we re-verify when updating content.
Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to a clear set of editorial principles — because when a site covers personal finance, accuracy and transparency aren't optional.
- Source everything. Every statistic in our calculators and articles links to its original source. If we can't verify a claim, we don't publish it.
- Show the assumptions. We state the return rate, tax rate, and time horizon behind every projection. No hidden variables, no inflated promises.
- Empower, never shame. We frame every result as freedom gained — what your money could become — never as money wasted. Your spending reflects your values; we provide the math so you can decide.
- Disclose limitations. Every calculator and article includes a disclaimer stating that results are estimates for educational purposes, not financial advice. We recommend consulting a licensed financial advisor for personalized guidance.
- Keep content current. We monitor our sources for updates and refresh statistics when newer data becomes available. If a source link breaks, we find and verify the replacement.
